Two containers and a Christmas Tree

The final surface foot print for geothermal direct heat projects is seriously small: the smallest of any energy source. This picture shows our well head (known as a ‘Christmas Tree’ in drilling slang) and one of the containers that houses the heating system: the controller for the downhole pump. Another container has the filters and heat exchanger that joins up the system with the heat main, which runs underground to Eden Project. That’s it.

Geothermal: renewable energy as we’d all like it to be.
